The FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series concluded its 2026 season with historic figures that reflect the international growth of women’s basketball and the increasing interest of fans in this discipline. The circuit reached a record 25 stops and recorded 90 million video views, 137.8 million impressions and 4.6 million engagements across its digital platforms, consolidating its presence in different markets.

The season was also marked by the sporting development and commercial expansion of the competition. France claimed the title at the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series Project Redwings Shanghai 2026 Final, where Laetitia Guapo was named MVP. The victory gave the country its third Women’s Series Final title, following its triumphs in 2019 and 2024, in a year when the circuit also strengthened its media reach and international partnerships.

The digital audience of the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series reaches historic figures

The competition’s growth was particularly evident in its digital results, which continued the positive trend of the previous two seasons. During 2026, the Women’s Series recorded 90 million video views, an 88% increase compared to the 48 million registered in 2025. This was accompanied by 137.8 million impressions, up from 70 million the previous year, representing a 97% increase. Engagement also experienced significant growth, reaching 4.6 million, 77% more than the 2.6 million recorded last season.

These figures are linked to the circuit’s geographical expansion and its ability to connect with different communities. The 25 stops on the calendar provided venues across various regions of the world, bringing the competition closer to new audiences and building connections with local fans. This international presence allowed women’s 3×3 basketball to expand its exposure beyond traditional markets, using digital platforms to multiply the reach of each tournament and increase the visibility of its leading figures.

Shanghai boosts the circuit’s international and commercial profile

The FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series Project Redwings Shanghai 2026 Final was also one of the season’s major highlights in terms of audience figures. The event generated 12.82 million video views and 14.43 million impressions across FIBA 3×3’s official channels. Compared with the 2025 Final, which recorded 5.96 million video views and 8.8 million impressions, these results represented increases of 115% and 64%, respectively. Locally, 70 Chinese media outlets registered to cover the competition, while more than 3,600 visitors attended over the two days.

The tournament’s exposure also extended through platforms and content creators. The Local Organising Committee recorded 4.28 million live-stream views and 22.78 million views of event-related content across five Chinese platforms, including CCTV Sports Online. In addition, 15 local creators and influencers, with a combined following of approximately 13.99 million, participated in promoting the Final and generated an estimated 136.6 million impressions. Shanghai will continue to host the Women’s Series Final until 2028, in partnership with Project Redwings.

Meanwhile, the circuit expanded its commercial structure with the addition of Mitsubishi Electric, which signed a four-year agreement and became the first Japanese company to participate as a commercial team. This partnership joined a model that brings together commercial teams and national federation teams, diversifying the presence of brands within the competition. International distribution also continued to develop in 2026, with broadcasts available through official FIBA 3×3 channels and various Chinese platforms, including iQIYI and QiyiguoTV.
