Yokohama, Japan, will host the opening stage of the 2024 World Triathlon Series, following the cancellation of the inaugural event. The Abu Dhabi date, scheduled for last March, was cancelled due to a storm threat.

On May 11, the historic Japanese city, will be the postponed start, then continue in Cagliari, Hamburg, Montreal and, as a grand finale, Torremolinos (Malaga, Spain) next October.

The current world ranking, which is also valid in the race for Paris 2024, is dominated by Americans, Europeans and Oceanians. The exception is Mexico’s Rosa María Tapia, tenth in the women’s ranking.

The long wait will come to an end on Japanese soil.
