The president of the European Olympic Committees, Spyros Capralos, highlighted the significance of the event for the region: “Bakuriani 2025 will be an exceptional platform for young athletes to showcase their talent and for Georgia to reaffirm its commitment to winter sports,” he stated.
BOOSTING SPORTS DEVELOPMENT
The festival will not only allow young athletes to compete at a high level but will also foster the growth of sports in Georgia. “We are confident that this festival will leave a lasting legacy for future generations,” Capralos assured. He also emphasized the key role of the event in promoting Olympic values such as friendship and respect.
The organization of the event has involved significant investment in infrastructure and athlete development. “Georgia is demonstrating its commitment to winter sports, and Bakuriani 2025 is just another step on that path,” added the EOC president. This investment is also expected to contribute to the development of sports tourism in the region, attracting more visitors and strengthening the local economy.
Additionally, the event will serve as an opportunity to inspire young Georgians to take up winter sports. “We want Bakuriani 2025 to inspire new generations of athletes and help establish a strong sports culture in the country,” Capralos commented.

Bakuriani is a renowned ski resort that has hosted high-level international competitions, such as the 2023 FIS Snowboard and Freestyle World Championships. “The facilities are top-tier, and Georgia’s enthusiasm for winter sports ensures that Bakuriani 2025 will be an unforgettable event,” Capralos emphasized.
The festival will feature competitions in disciplines such as alpine skiing, biathlon, snowboarding, and figure skating, among others. “These games will not only offer thrilling competitions but also foster friendship and cultural exchange among athletes,” concluded the EOC president.
