From 1 to 13 December 2025, Buenos Aires hosted the World Skate Artistic International Seminar and Camp, a major educational event that brought together around 1,000 coaches, judges and athletes from 17 countries. The initiative was conceived as a space for advanced training and technical development, with the aim of strengthening competitive and educational standards in artistic skating at international level.

Local organisation was led by the Argentine Roller Sports Confederation -CAP-, in collaboration with World Skate, positioning Argentina as the host of one of the discipline’s key educational initiatives on the international calendar. The programme combined technical sessions, regulatory education and intensive training activities, targeting both officials and athletes.

Internationally recognised coaches and technical staff

The event was structured around two complementary formats. The International Seminar, held from 5 to 7 December, was aimed at judges, technical specialists and coaches, with sessions focused on rule updates, technical criteria and the analysis of the different artistic skating disciplines. In parallel, the Athletes Camps were delivered in two separate blocks: Free Skating, from 1 to 4 December, and Dance, from 8 to 13 December.

All activities took place at venues within the Youth Olympic Park, in Villa Soldati (CABA), with sessions organised by age group and performance level. The Free Skating Camp was led by Andrea Aracu, Raffaello Melossi, Manel Villaroya, Oscar Molins and Walter Iglesias, while the Pairs discipline was guided by Patrick Venerucci and Cristina Pelli. The Dance Camp was conducted by Luis Perez, Gaston Pasini, Enrique Demata, Carlos Paiva and Lorenza Residori, with additional choreography sessions delivered by Pedro Romero and Andrea Bassi, focused on artistic development and expressive performance.

An opportunity to showcase Argentine artistic skating

The official opening ceremony was attended by the President of the Argentine Olympic Committee -COA-, Mario Moccia; the President of the CAP and Treasurer of the COA, Daniel Ventura; the President of the Artistic Technical Commission of World Skate, Nicola Genchi; and the Technical Director of the CAP, Gabriela Otten. During the event, speakers highlighted the importance of the seminar within the international artistic skating education framework.

Daniel Ventura stated that “this international camp provides an opportunity to showcase the work being carried out in Argentine artistic skating and to strengthen the country’s presence at international level”. Mario Moccia noted that “bringing together coaches, judges and athletes from different countries in Buenos Aires helps raise technical standards and reinforces Argentina’s position within the global sporting landscape”.

Judges’ examinations and international accessibility

The programme also included official examinations for judges and technical specialists, held on 8 December, enabling participants to pursue international certifications across several disciplines. Accredited judges were also given the opportunity to apply for technical specialist roles, supporting professional development pathways within the World Skate structure.

To ensure broad international participation, all sessions were supported by simultaneous interpretation in English, Spanish and Italian. This facilitated technical exchange and open discussion among participants from a wide range of federative and cultural backgrounds.
