The Human Resources and Administrative Affairs Department of the Qatar Olympic CommitteeQOC—, in collaboration with the National Cyber Security Agency, held a cybersecurity awareness workshop earlier this month at the QOC headquarters. The session was attended by employees of the committee as well as representatives from national sports federations and committees, with the aim of strengthening system and data protection in the digital environment. This workshop may serve as an example for other NOCs that might see the need to stay up to date on this issue.

The training was delivered by Al Jazi Al-Hajri, a certified trainer with the National Cyber Security Agency. She began with an introduction to cybersecurity and its various types, before addressing the risks and threats involved, including human-related vulnerabilities, viruses, and different forms of social engineering.

In the second part of her presentation, Al-Hajri explained the impacts of cyberattacks, ranging from data and identity theft to psychological harm, financial loss, disruption of services, and reputational damage. She also introduced protection models designed to prevent hacking and cyber intrusions.

Objective: a secure digital environment

The workshop focused on providing practical solutions and guidelines to reinforce technological security: raising employee awareness, enforcing strict information access policies, introducing advanced monitoring systems, and ensuring regular software updates to maintain a secure and stable digital environment.

This initiative forms part of the QOC’s training plan, aimed at developing professional protection strategies and enhancing institutional performance. It aligns with the strategic objective of creating an ideal working environment that attracts top talent, develops their skills, and retains expertise.
