The Ski Jumping World Cup in Lillehammer (Norway) will kick off next weekend, with excitement running high at the 1994 Olympic venue. The event will mark the official start of the 2024-2025 season, with five competitions scheduled from November 22 to 24, in both the women’s and men’s categories.
Although no natural snow has fallen in Lillehammer yet, the organizers had anticipated this eventuality and installed a snow reservoir last winter. Thanks to this foresight, the ski jump is already ready to welcome the best jumpers in the world, who will compete in a series of events on the HS 140 hill.
HIGH EXPECTATIONS
The competitions will begin on Friday, November 22, with the mixed team event, followed by individual events for women on Saturday, November 23, and for men on Sunday, November 24. These events will provide a great opportunity to see who will take the first victory of the season, with eyes on the standout athletes.
FIS Race Director Sandro Pertile praised the work of the Lillehammer organizers, who, despite the challenging weather conditions, have managed to create the necessary conditions for the competitions to take place smoothly. After this opening weekend, the men will travel to Ruka (Finland) to continue their campaign, while the Women’s World Cup will resume in December in Zhangjiakou, Beijing, after a two-week break.
