FIBA 3×3 closed a busy international weekend with three main focuses across its global circuit: Miami winning the first edition of the FIBA 3×3 World Tour Zadar 2026, Canada taking the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series Shanghai 2026 title and DeQing claiming victory at the FIBA 3×3 Xi’an Challenger 2026. The three competitions strengthened the international dimension of the format, with men’s and women’s tournaments in Croatia and China, new stops on the calendar and qualification places at stake for future World Tour events.
The weekend also delivered several relevant developments for the circuit: Zadar made its World Tour debut with a final between Miami and Amsterdam Rabobank, Shanghai consolidated its place in the Women’s Series with an overtime final between Canada and Amsterdam, and Xi’an awarded qualifying spots for the FIBA 3×3 World Tour Amsterdam 2026. There was also local success in China, with DeQing’s victory in the Xi’an Challenger, and competitive continuity for the calendar, which will continue next week with the World Tour in Shanghai.
Miami wins the first World Tour in Zadar
Miami were crowned champions of the FIBA 3×3 World Tour Zadar 2026 after defeating Amsterdam Rabobank 21-19 in the final of the first circuit stop held in the Croatian city. The United States team, who had closed pool play with wins over Fuengirola and Vienna, came through a demanding knockout phase before claiming their first World Tour title of the season.
The tournament also saw James Parrott named Most Valuable Player -MVP- after finishing as Miami’s top scorer with 34 points in five games and recording the highest player value of the event. The Zadar stop brought together teams including Ub, Toronto, Shanghai, Antwerp, Liman, Cibona, Baskets Bonn, Los Angeles, Kaunas VDU and Utsunomiya BREX.EXE, with Miami, Amsterdam Rabobank and Ub heading the final standings.

Canada triumphs in Shanghai in the Women’s Series
Canada won the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series Shanghai 2026 after beating Amsterdam 19-17 in an overtime final at the Shanghai Global Harbor. The Canadian team, already among the favourites for the tournament, advanced strongly through the knockout phase after defeating Thailand in the quarter-finals and Beijing in the semi-finals.
Merissah Russell was named MVP of the tournament after finishing as the event’s leading scorer with 33 points, as well as topping the standings for two-pointers made and total player value. The competition also produced several surprises, including Beijing’s performance after defeating the Netherlands in pool play, and Ulaanbaatar Amazons’ win over the Dutch team in the quarter-finals. The Women’s Series will return from 12 to 14 June with the Vienna stop, after the break for the FIBA 3×3 World Cup 2026.
DeQing makes home advantage count in Xi’an
DeQing completed the weekend’s FIBA 3×3 treble of news with victory at the FIBA 3×3 Xi’an Challenger 2026, where they defeated Phoenix 22-17 in the final. The Chinese team, led by Zhang Dianliang, who was named MVP and finished as the tournament’s leading scorer with 38 points, came through an international field with qualification places for the World Tour in Amsterdam at stake.
The Xi’an Challenger also carried qualifying value. DeQing, Phoenix and Skyliners earned tickets to the FIBA 3×3 World Tour Amsterdam 2026, although Princeton, third in the overall standings, could not qualify directly because regulations allowed only one team from the United States to secure an outright place from this tournament. The competition also confirmed the growing presence of Chinese venues within the FIBA 3×3 ecosystem, with Xi’an and Shanghai hosting events during the same international weekend.
The circuit will continue without pause with the return of the FIBA 3×3 World Tour in Shanghai, scheduled for 23 to 24 May, while the Women’s Series will resume in Vienna after the FIBA 3×3 World Cup 2026. In Zadar, the final standings left Miami as champions, followed by Amsterdam Rabobank and Ub, while in Xi’an the podium was formed by DeQing, Phoenix and Princeton.
