The FIBA has officially confirmed the groups for the upcoming edition of the FIBA 3×3 World Cup 2026, which will take place from June 1 to 7 in Warsaw and will once again bring together the best men’s and women’s teams on the planet. With twenty national teams in each category and growing international attention on 3×3 basketball, the tournament promises a week marked by intensity, speed and talent in one of the most dynamic formats in modern sport.
Expectations are not only focused on the matchups and the powerhouse teams chasing the title, but also on the commercial momentum that this discipline continues to gain. Alongside the group announcement, FIBA also confirmed a new global partnership with XTB, an agreement that will support the organization’s major international competitions through the end of 2027. The partnership reflects the continued growth of 3×3 basketball and this format’s ability to attract global brands looking to connect with increasingly young and international audiences.
The groups present a highly competitive scenario
The men’s competition will feature several groups with enormous appeal from day one. Group A appears to be one of the toughest, with Serbia, six-time world champion, sharing the group with defending champion Spain, as well as Austria, Australia and Madagascar. Meanwhile, Group D also promises high-level matchups, featuring Lithuania, France, Belgium, Puerto Rico and Brazil in what many already consider to be the most difficult group in the tournament.
The women’s competition will also feature especially balanced groups. Group B will include Spain, United States, Mongolia, Hungary and Australia, in a pool marked by athleticism and international experience. Meanwhile, Group D will bring together France, Canada, Japan, Ukraine and Lithuania, creating a bracket where there are virtually no easy opponents and every game could prove decisive.
XTB strengthens FIBA’s global growth
Alongside the sporting preparations, FIBA continues to strengthen its commercial ecosystem with the arrival of XTB as a new global partner. The agreement will remain in place until December 2027 and will be present at major events such as the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2026 and the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027. In addition, the company will play a central role in the European qualifiers for the 2027 Men’s World Cup, becoming the main sponsor starting with the third international qualifying window.
The partnership aims to go beyond simple brand exposure. XTB plans to offer exclusive experiences for fans, including behind-the-scenes access and the opportunity to step onto the official courts in Berlin and Doha. The company, whose ambassador is former footballer Zlatan Ibrahimović, believes that basketball shares values such as strategy, resilience and decision-making, qualities that are also part of the financial world. For FIBA, this agreement reinforces the global appeal of its tournaments and confirms that basketball remains a platform capable of bringing together sport, innovation and new commercial opportunities.
