FIBA’s partnership with All Women’s Sports Network (and Whoopi Goldberg) to launch the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series

The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) announced a historic partnership with All Women’s Sports Network (AWSN), the first global channel dedicated exclusively to women’s sports, to broadcast live the 2025 and 2026 seasons of the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series. This competition is the ultimate expression of women’s 3×3 basketball, bringing together the best international teams representing national federations or commercial teams.

The agreement will allow the fast-paced action of women’s 3×3 basketball to reach audiences around the world, with live and tape-delayed broadcasts in countries such as the United States, Mexico, India, the Philippines, Vietnam, Japan, Korea, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and sub-Saharan Africa. AWSN will also distribute the matches through its local platform partners in key markets such as the United States, India and the Philippines.

A NEW ERA FOR WOMEN’S SPORTS

AWSN, founded by award-winning actress and comedian Whoopi Goldberg and George Chung, CEO of JungoTV, is a channel committed to promoting women’s sports globally. Launched in 2024 in countries such as the US, India, UAE and the Philippines, the channel already includes major competitions such as the Australian Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL), the WTA 125 and the UEFA Women’s Nations League.

The addition of the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series reinforces FIBA’s commitment to equality in sport, a strategic priority from 2019, extended to 2027. This strategy includes specific objectives to boost women’s participation, representation and impact at all levels of basketball.

AN OPPORTUNITY TO EXPAND GLOBAL REACH

The 2024 Women’s Series season has already broken interaction records, with more than 50 million impressions on digital platforms, up 51% from 2023, and 41 million views, an increase of 64%. The final in Hangzhou, China, marked a highlight in the history of the competition.

With the partnership with AWSN, the 2025 and 2026 seasons are expected to achieve even greater reach, consolidating the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series as one of the most influential and exciting competitions in women’s basketball worldwide, while becoming a commitment to visibility and recognition of women’s sport.
