Last week and with immediate effect, Gaston Parage resigned as president of the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) for professional and personal reasons. As SportsIn has learned, the delicate reasons for his sudden departure from the presidency could affect both his personal circumstances and his reputation and image.
In a text, the IPF Executive Committee expressed its thanks to Gaston Parage for all his years of service to the sport of powerlifting and to the federation. “We wish him success in his future professional endeavors,” the official statement noted. Effective immediately, Sigurjon Petursson will assume the position of interim president, while Mr. Dietmar Wolf will take the position of interim vice-president.
The IPF Executive Committee will continue to work to ensure the stability and development of powerlifting at the international level.
