Vlad Marinescu has been re-elected as President of the International Esports Federation during its 17th Ordinary General Meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The meeting took place alongside the finals of the 17th World Esports Championship for Mobile Legends Bang Bang and brought together representatives from member federations across the world to discuss governance, strategic planning and board appointments.
Marinescu, serving his second term as the 10th President of IESF, expressed gratitude for the continued support of members. “I am deeply grateful for the trust placed in me to continue leading the International Esports Federation. As we mark our 10th election cycle, we remain committed to unity, transparency, and the sustainable growth of the esports world,” he said.
Marinescu first assumed the presidency in 2020, focusing on professionalizing and internationalizing the federation’s operations. In October 2023, he resigned to dedicate more time to global esports initiatives. Following his departure, HRH Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan Al Saud was appointed Acting President and later confirmed as President during a special OGM in November 2023.

The congress also reviewed strategic priorities for the upcoming year, including strengthening governance standards, expanding athlete development programs, and promoting international cooperation. Member-submitted motions were voted on, reaffirming the federation’s commitment to transparency, professional integrity, and institutional development across the esports ecosystem.
The newly elected IESF Board for 2026 reflects the federation’s global reach, with representatives from multiple continents. Members include Prince Omar Bin Faisal of Jordan, Afiq Fadhli Bin Narawi of Malaysia, Elin Yoojung Moen of Norway, Clint Kennedy of the United States, and Flip De Bruyn of Namibia.
The OGM concluded as the MLBB finals continued on-site, highlighting IESF’s ongoing mission to unite nations through esports while supporting athletes, federations, and fans worldwide.
