Archery is in decisive stages towards the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. From April 7 to 14, the Pan American Championship will be held in Medellin, Colombia, with around 450 athletes from 27 countries looking for a ticket to the rings.
The event will be held at the Unidad Deportiva de Belén and will feature three modalities: recurve, compound and Berebow. For each of them there will be four individual quotas and two team quotas for Paris 2024.
Archery is one of the most traditional sports of the Olympic Games. Its first appearance was – precisely – in Paris 1900. Then it was in St. Louis 1904, London 1908 and Antwerp 1920. And after a long absence, in Munich 1972 it would return to the Olympic plan to remain continuously until today.
In Paris 2024, 64 men and 64 women will compete. Among them are the athletes from the Americas who will compete in the Pan American Championships, which, however, will not only award tickets to the Olympic Games. In addition, the event will have six slots (three for men and three for women) for the World Games in Chengdu 2025 in dispute.
