The FIBA 3×3 World Cup 2026 closed in Warsaw after a week of urban competition, with Latvia crowned men’s champions and the United States winning the women’s tournament. Held over seven days at Parade Square, in the heart of the Polish capital, the event brought together more than 100,000 spectators, sold-out sessions and an atmosphere that confirmed the appeal of the format in an open setting, close to the public and with the pace of a global event.
The 10th edition of the tournament produced two champions with different storylines. Latvia won its first men’s world title after defeating Germany 20-15 in the final, while the United States claimed its fourth women’s title after beating Australia 21-20 in a tight finish. Beyond the results, Warsaw offered a week of high visibility for 3×3, with established national teams, new protagonists, competitive surprises and a staging designed to connect with the public from the centre of the city.
Latvia completes its collection of titles
Latvia’s men’s title carried historic value within the circuit. The Baltic team became the first side to bring together Tokyo 2020 Olympic gold, the FIBA 3×3 Europe Cup title from 2017 and the FIBA 3×3 World Cup title in 2026. It had already added the FIBA 3×3 World Tour title in 2020, making its victory in Warsaw the piece that completed a landmark trajectory in the discipline.
Germany reached the final and confirmed its competitive strength in the tournament, while Serbia took bronze for the second consecutive year after beating France 20-19. Karlis Lasmanis was named men’s MVP and finished as the tournament’s top scorer with 56 points, after closing the final with 12. The men’s Team of the Tournament was completed by Denzel Agyeman, key to Germany’s run, and Strahinja Stojacic, a reference point for Serbia and one of the major figures in international 3×3.
The United States reinforces its women’s dominance
In the women’s competition, the United States added a fourth world title to its record, following those won in 2012, 2014 and 2023. The final against Australia, decided 21-20, also carried added value for the Australians, who reached a FIBA 3×3 World Cup final for the first time in their history. The game reflected the balance of a competition in which the American team confirmed its ability to decide the key moments.
Mikaylah Williams was named women’s MVP after leading the United States and scoring the game-winning basket in the final. Australia also produced one of the strongest individual performances of the tournament through Amy Atwell, the women’s top scorer with 49 points and a member of the Team of the Tournament. The third member of the ideal team was Noortje Driessen, who led the Netherlands to bronze with a 21-14 victory over Azerbaijan.
Surprises, new stages and urban spectacle
The tournament was not explained only by the finals. Serbia and the Netherlands began the competition with authority on the opening day, the Czech Republic surprised the men’s draw with a victory over the United States, and Madagascar produced one of the great stories of the pool phase by defeating Australia and eliminating reigning champions Spain with a 20-19 win. In the women’s draw, Azerbaijan also left one of the most notable campaigns, with a physical play-in against Lithuania and a place among the four best teams in the tournament.
Warsaw also added elements that belong to 3×3 as an urban experience, not only as a competition. The first edition of Dunk Mania was won by Team Grabo, led by Polish dunker Piotr “Grabo” Grabowski alongside China’s Chen “Dunk King” Deng Xing and Ukraine’s Dmitry “Smoove” Krivenko. Those kinds of formats, together with the rhythm of games, music, close-up crowds and concentrated programming, helped build a week of event activity around the court.
The final standings also showed the competitive depth of the tournament. In the men’s competition, Latvia, Germany and Serbia occupied the podium ahead of France, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Austria and the United States. In the women’s competition, the United States, Australia and the Netherlands finished ahead of Azerbaijan, Germany, Ukraine, Hungary and France. With the road to Los Angeles 2028 already underway, the international 3×3 community now looks to the next events on the calendar and to the next edition of the FIBA 3×3 World Cup, which will be held in Singapore in 2027.
