Guadalajara, the Mexican city with a rich tradition in diving, will once again host a global competition in 2025. The Code Metropolitano Aquatic Center, located in Zapopan, will become the meeting point for the world’s best divers during the Aquatic Diving World Cup.

This event marks a historic moment for the city, which has not hosted an international competition of this caliber since 2013. The aquatic center, renowned as a space of excellence, has been the venue for major events such as the 2011 Pan American Games and numerous national diving championships.

A Historic Comeback with Future Prospects

Guadalajara’s selection as host is no coincidence. The city boasts an impressive legacy, having served as a training ground for Olympic medalists such as Gabriela Agúndez, Paola Espinosa, and Iván García. Currently, the center operates under the guidance of Iván Bautista, a national coach who has driven the success of Mexican divers in recent Olympic cycles.

The competition will be part of an international calendar that includes stops in Windsor, Canada, and Beijing, China, further establishing Mexico as a key destination for aquatic sports. For Mexican divers, this event represents a golden opportunity to shine on home soil and prepare for future Olympic challenges.
