Swiss sportswear brand On has taken a decisive step in protecting sport by announcing an unprecedented partnership with the International Testing Agency (ITA). The agreement, made official last week, aims to provide complementary anti-doping measures and high-level educational programs to athletes sponsored by the brand—an initiative the ITA has described as a “commitment to protection, health, and integrity.”
This collaboration marks a milestone in global sport, as it is the first time the ITA has signed such an agreement with a company. Beyond reinforcing anti-doping controls, On seeks to offer its athletes a fair and transparent competitive environment, based on both rigorous testing and specialized training, thus setting a new standard for brands involved in elite performance.
A partnership to protect and educate athletes
The agreement with the ITA will allow for independent and professional anti-doping controls, especially for triathletes sponsored by On, in close coordination with World Triathlon and under the regulatory framework of the World Anti-Doping Code. In addition, athletes from other disciplines will also be included in these efforts through joint actions with the Athletics Integrity Unit, consolidating a holistic approach that goes beyond specific competitions.
But this partnership not only focuses on the athletes, but also on the ethics of sport. On has emphasized that its commitment includes education and support through the “On Athlete Compass” program, aiming for an environment where athletes can compete with confidence and transparency. As noted by ITA Director General Benjamin Cohen, this agreement reflects a shared willingness to establish a new model of shared responsibility, where brands also take an active role in promoting clean sport.
