The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) has marked a significant milestone in Africa by organizing a Level 3 Coaching Course in Tunisia. As part of the ITTF’s 2025 Africa Development Program, this was the first time in eight years that a course of this level was held on the continent, making it a highly anticipated event. Seventeen participants from nine Member Associations attended the intensive eight-day course, designed to elevate their coaching expertise to the highest international standards.
Led by Ramzi Mabrouk, ITTF Development Program Director, the course combined theoretical and practical sessions. Participants benefited from educational modules that helped refine their coaching techniques, deepen their tactical knowledge, and enhance their ability to train high-performance athletes. Additionally, expert Joze Urh conducted practical sessions emphasizing the essential qualities and strategies needed to optimize training programs. The course concluded with ten participants passing the final exam, further strengthening table tennis coaching in Africa.
ITTF COACHING COURSES

Hosting the course in Tunisia represents a major step forward in the development of table tennis in Africa. The ITTF has demonstrated its commitment to education and professional development, ensuring that Member Associations and sports clubs have access to highly qualified professionals. The participating coaches are now better equipped to contribute to the growth of table tennis in their countries, raising the level of competition and fostering a stronger community across the continent. Additionally, the course featured a cultural exchange that promoted camaraderie among participants, who had the opportunity to experience Tunisian culture during an excursion to the coastal city of Sidi Bou Said.
