Panagiotis Theodoropoulos has been re-elected as President of the Ju-Jitsu International Federation (JJIF) following a unanimous decision by the congress on October 26. His leadership, which began in 2008 after presiding over the Hellenic Ju-Jitsu Federation and the European Ju-Jitsu Union, has transformed the global landscape of the sport. During his tenure, Theodoropoulos has expanded the number of Ju-Jitsu national organizations and gained significant recognition by integrating Ju-Jitsu into the SportAccord Combat Games and the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), reflecting the growing prestige of this discipline.

At the recent International Federation Forum organized by SportAccord in late October in Lausanne, Switzerland, Theodoropoulos spearheaded a crucial agreement with the Islamic Solidarity Sports Association (ISSA). This major alliance, signed alongside ISSA Secretary General Nasser Majali, establishes a strategic collaboration aimed at enhancing programs for ISSA athletes and members. This joint effort not only promises to strengthen Ju-Jitsu in member countries but also opens new opportunities for the sport to be part of the Islamic Solidarity Games, to be held in Riyadh in 2025.

The re-election of Theodoropoulos clearly reflects the confidence in his vision and dedication to the global growth of Ju-Jitsu. With this new term, it is expected that the JJIF will continue its expansion and strengthen its global partnerships, promoting the development of this discipline within a framework of inclusion and international cooperation.
