The President of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev, met with the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Thomas Bach, at the IOC headquarters to discuss the country’s bid to host the Winter Youth Olympic Games.
During his working visit to Switzerland, President Radev met with the Olympic leader, who expressed his willingness to assist in preparing the bid. Bach also noted that the proximity of the capital to the mountains facilitates the organization of the event.

The Bulgarian President pointed out that “Bulgaria is proud of its traditions in winter sports and has gained considerable experience in organizing international competitions.” He also expressed his gratitude to the IOC for its efforts and Bulgaria’s ambition to host the Winter Youth Olympic Games.
The two presidents also highlighted the contribution of the Olympic Movement to promoting peace and understanding among nations. In addition to the two presidents, the meeting was attended by Stefka Kostadinova, President of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee, and Vesela Lecheva, a member of the IOC Public Affairs and Corporate Communications Committee.
