In a sporting landscape increasingly competing for digital attention and younger audiences, the World Flying Disc Federation and the Association of National Olympic Committees have decided to take a strategic step that goes beyond symbolism. The strengthening of their alliance not only consolidates an institutional relationship, but also places flying disc sports at the center of a broader conversation about innovation, visibility, and transformation within the Olympic Movement.
The agreement includes the creation of an exclusive space for the WFDF on ANOC.tv, the association’s OTT platform, where the best of disciplines such as Ultimate, Disc Golf, and Beach Ultimate will be showcased. Elite competitions, human stories of athletes, highlights, and educational content will shape a narrative designed to connect with the National Olympic Committees (NOCs), as well as with a global audience seeking dynamic, urban sports with a strong identity.
ANOC.tv as a global showcase for a growing sport
The decision to integrate a dedicated WFDF section on ANOC.tv follows the impact generated by flying disc sports during and after the Chengdu 2025 World Games. The audience response, both on the platform and across ANOC’s digital and social channels, demonstrated a growing interest in fresh, inclusive sports content with strong youth appeal.
For ANOC Secretary General Gunilla Lindberg, the digital performance of the content sent a clear signal. The expansion of the agreement reinforces, in her words, a commitment to digital innovation and greater visibility for International Federations within the Olympic ecosystem. In an environment where storytelling and accessibility determine reach, the new hub aims to transform the discovery of the sport into a continuous and accessible experience.
Institutional presence and projection toward Hong Kong 2026
The alliance goes beyond the digital sphere. After its active participation at the ANOC General Assembly in Cascais 2024, the WFDF will maintain a strong institutional presence at Hong Kong 2026, where it will host a stand in the Networking Area. There, NOCs and other stakeholders will gain direct access to the federation’s development programs, strategic initiatives, and event portfolio.
WFDF President Robert “Nob” Rauch emphasized the transformative nature of the agreement. For the federation, visibility on ANOC.tv and direct engagement with the Olympic community represent an opportunity to project the excitement, inclusivity, and universality of flying disc sports worldwide. The momentum generated in Chengdu 2025 thus becomes a starting point for expansion that combines digital storytelling, institutional presence, and strategic ambition within the Olympic Movement.
