The International Olympic Committee (IOC) confirmed the continuation of its partnership with América Móvil for the management of audiovisual rights in Latin America during the 2026–2032 period, ensuring a sustained Olympic presence in millions of households across the region. The agreement reinforces a relationship that began in 2014 and projects coverage of five major Olympic events, including Summer, Winter, and Youth Olympic Games.
Through its subsidiary AMX Contenido, SA de CV (AMCO), América Móvil will hold the media rights to the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games, Los Angeles 2028, French Alps 2030, Brisbane 2032, and the Youth Olympic Games of the same period, across a wide range of territories spanning from Central America to the Southern Cone, including countries such as Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Peru, and Uruguay.
A partnership that guarantees Olympic presence in the region
The agreement establishes that AMX will hold exclusive pay-TV and digital pay-TV rights in all designated territories, consolidating its role as a strategic partner of the IOC in Latin America. This coverage will enable sustained and consistent distribution of the Olympic Games, ensuring public access to competitions across different time zones and audiovisual consumption formats.
From the IOC, President Kirsty Coventry highlighted the strength of this long-term relationship, underscoring the trust placed in América Móvil as a well-established broadcaster in the region. The extension of the agreement aims to guarantee broad and continuous Olympic coverage, with the objective of offering fans an experience aligned with the standards of the Olympic Movement at each edition of the Games.
Commitment to the Olympic experience and innovation
For América Móvil, the agreement represents the continuation of a long-term project focused on bringing Olympic sport closer to Latin American audiences. Arturo Elias Ayub, Chief Executive Officer of América Móvil Contenido, expressed the company’s enthusiasm for accompanying a new series of Olympic Games, from Milano Cortina 2026 to Brisbane 2032, highlighting the scale and diversity of this Olympic cycle.
The commitment undertaken by AMX focuses on the development of innovative experiences that connect with fans and follow athletes throughout their journey, using available platforms to amplify the reach of Olympic content. The partnership reinforces the projection of the Olympic spirit in the region, supported by technology, sports storytelling, and the ability to connect people through sport.
