The World Padel Summit and the Olympic future of the sport in Barcelona

The Padel World Summit (PWS) will be held from May 27 to 29 at the Gran Via exhibition center of Fira de Barcelona, consolidating itself as the event of reference for the development and expansion of padel at a global level. With 30 million players worldwide, 600,000 members and 71 national associations adhered to the International Padel Federation (FIP), this sport is looking to take a step closer to its inclusion in the official program of the Olympic Games.

The international congress Padel Global Conference will be one of the key points of the event, where the main challenges and opportunities for the future of padel will be discussed.

Inclusion of padel in the Olympic Games

One of the highlights of the Padel Global Conference will be the possible inclusion of padel in the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games. Eric Babolat, CEO of the prestigious Babolat brand, will be one of the speakers in charge of addressing this issue, analyzing the necessary steps for padel to be part of the Olympic program.

The congress will feature more than 100 international experts who will address other key issues for the development of the sport, such as professionalization, global expansion and business opportunities in the sector.

Clubs and professionalization

The creation of a strong player base through the founding of clubs will be another of the main themes of the PWS. Sebastian Gordon, co-founder of Rocket Padel, will share his experience in setting up clubs in the UK, including the Bristol club, the largest in the country. Gabriel Pérez Krieb, president of Taktika Equity, the largest padel investment fund in the United States, will explain the keys to boosting the growth and professionalization of the sport.

In addition, Ana Gómez, marketing director at AFP Group, Adidas licensee for padel, will present the brand’s strategy to expand its presence in the sport worldwide.

Barcelona, global capital of padel

The Padel World Summit will feature an exhibition area with more than 150 companies, an investment forum, a networking space and eight padel courts for exhibition matches. More than 6,000 professional visitors from all over the world are expected to attend, consolidating Barcelona as the global capital of padel during the event.
