The city of Paris once again became the epicenter of the global pelota scene after more than three decades without hosting an official competition by the International Federation of Basque Pelota (FIPV). In this first edition of the Nations League, 230 athletes from 13 countries competed over seven days in the La Cavalieri trinquet and the small Cambo trinquet. The large turnout during the semifinals and finals confirmed the success of this event, which was a true celebration of the sport.

In the finals, Spain triumphed in the Women’s Goma Trinquet category, followed by France and Argentina. Meanwhile, France dominated in Cuero Trinquet and Xare, with Spain and Argentina taking second and third place, respectively. The United States earned a spot on the podium in Xare, securing the bronze. The day ended with the excitement of the final matches, which were broadcast live on the FFPB YouTube channel.

Parapelota also took center stage, marking a milestone in FIPV history as its first official competition. France claimed the gold, followed by Argentina and Brazil. The success of Parapelota paves the way for future challenges in international competitions.

Finally, the FIPV has called on all its affiliated federations to attend the next Assembly, scheduled for December 28, 2024, in Pamplona, where the challenges and plans for the growth of the sport worldwide will be discussed.
