This milestone sets an all-time record and underscores the growing interest in the sport. With just over eight months until the opening match between England and the United States, scheduled for August 22 at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light, ticket sales have exceeded all expectations, ensuring an unmatched spectacle across eight cities in England.

Global enthusiasm is clear, with ticket requests coming from 72 countries. Furthermore, the balanced ticket sales between men and women highlight the inclusive nature of this edition, which promises to be not only the most attended but also the most diverse and widely celebrated in history.

An Unprecedented Event in Women’s Rugby

The Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 has already sold more than 50% of the total tickets for the 2021 edition held in New Zealand, including 90,000 tickets secured since November. Key matches, such as England’s group-stage games and those scheduled at Twickenham, have required lotteries due to overwhelming demand, cementing England 2025 as the largest sporting event in the UK next year.
