During the 13th World Curling Congress held earlier this month in Montreal, the World Curling held elections for four key positions on its Board of Directors. Thirteen candidates vied for two Vice President and two Director positions, each for a four-year term.
Australia’s Kim Forge was elected Vice-President in the first round, while Norway’s Morten Soegaard won the second Vice-Presidency after several rounds of voting. For the Director positions, Czech David Sik and Canadian Jill Officer were elected after several rounds of voting.
Three former Board members – Vice Presidents Graham Prouse (Canada) and Hugh Millikin (Australia), and Director Toyo Ogawa (Japan) – stepped down after reaching their term limits, marking the end of an era.
