The International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) announced Achilleas Tsogas as the new CEO of the world’s leading weightlifting organization. The Greek began his duties from March 1, 2024.
“We are extremely pleased that Mr. Tsogas is our new CEO,” said Mohammed Jalood, President of the IWF. “We believe his experience will add value to the IWF. In his previous positions he has witnessed the progress we have made in many essential areas. “I am sure that he will be instrumental in reinforcing our sustained and continuous development,” he added.
Tsogas has extensive experience in sports, having worked for more than eight years in the International Olympic Committee, serving in the organization of the Youth Olympic Games and also in charge of contact sports as a key man in the relations of the IOC and the Federations.
