The National Olympic Committees (NOCs) of the Americas have begun working together on operational aspects of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games during the Americas LA28 NOC Games Preparation Forum, held in Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic). The meeting brought together LA28, the IOC, Panam Sports and the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) to provide the different countries with the latest available information on preparations for the Games.
The Forum was divided into two sessions to facilitate exchanges between participants. Spanish-speaking NOCs met on 17 and 18 August, while English-speaking NOCs met on 20 and 21 August. Garibaldy Bautista, President of the Dominican Republic Olympic Committee; Joanna Zipser-Graves, Olympic Solidarity Associate Director; and Jimena Saldaña, Secretary General of Panam Sports, took part in the opening.
One of the main objectives was to begin translating LA28’s overall planning into the specific needs of each delegation. The Los Angeles 2028 Organising Committee presented the latest updates to the Games Master Plan and addressed areas including the sports programme, Olympic Villages, accommodation, transport, ticketing, accreditation and the Delegation Registration Process.
The meeting was not limited to presentations from LA28. The NOCs themselves shared experiences and case studies covering different areas of Games preparation, while representatives from the IOC and Panam Sports outlined the programmes and resources that will be available to countries over the next two years.
ANOC’s support for Los Angeles
ANOC was represented by Andres Santi, Senior Project and Event Manager, who joined the IOC and Panam Sports in the coordination and knowledge-sharing sessions. Santi also presented several tools that the association will make available to NOCs before and during the Games.
These include the ANOC-PEAK Uniform Programme, designed to support committees with their uniforms, as well as the Digital Content Hub and ANOC.tv Studio. The latter two initiatives aim to facilitate content production and increase the digital visibility of NOCs during Los Angeles 2028, particularly those with fewer resources of their own.
