The International Association for the Development of Apnea (AIDA) has announced the opening of applications to organize the prestigious AIDA Pool and Depth World Championships for the years 2026 and 2027. This call is aimed at event organizers worldwide, offering the opportunity to host the most important competitions in the field of freediving, showcasing their country as a key destination for this discipline.
This announcement presents an unparalleled opportunity to be part of the growth of freediving, while promoting sports tourism in host countries.
Requirements for application
For the AIDA Pool World Championship, interested organizers must meet certain requirements, including providing photographs of the facilities that meet established standards, proposing event dates, securing agreements with local hotels, and submitting a detailed budget covering accommodation costs, pool rental, and safety equipment. Additionally, they must offer information on the best transportation options for participants and attendees.
For the Depth World Championship, proposals must include information about the diving location, weather conditions, proposed dates, safety and evacuation plans, as well as a comprehensive budget covering all logistical expenses.
Proposals for the 2026 Pool World Championship should focus on European locations, while the 2027 venues are preferred in Asia or the Americas. For the Depth World Championship, AIDA is open to considering both new and familiar locations.
Applications must be submitted by November 30, 2024, to events@aidainternational.org.
