The start of aquatic competitions at the Ayacucho–Lima 2025 Bolivarian Games marks a meeting point between tradition, effort, and sporting ambition. Canoeing opened the calendar at the Naval School of Peru, where events held from November 26 to 28 bring together athletes who face each stretch with discipline and a deep connection with the water. In this historic setting, delegations experience days of focus, camaraderie, and the pursuit of excellence.
At the same time, surfing ignited its own energy at the IPD High-Performance Center Punta Rocas, an iconic venue for this sport in the region. There, surfers from various countries began their path toward the medals in an environment where the ocean sets the rules and challenges every competitor. With shifting waves and an atmosphere charged with expectations, the competition opens a vibrant chapter within the Bolivarian program.
Canoeing and Surfing: Two Venues, One Competitive Spirit
The canoeing races at the Naval School of Peru combine technique, endurance, and close coexistence among athletes who share routines, sacrifices, and dreams. Delegations find in these days an opportunity to showcase the work built over years of preparation, while support teams and families accompany each launch into the water, reaffirming that athletic performance is always a collective effort.
In Punta Rocas, surfers from Peru, Panama, Chile, Venezuela, Ecuador, Colombia, and Trinidad and Tobago display their talent before an ocean as challenging as it is inspiring. Each maneuver is a negotiation with nature and a demonstration of sporting personality, in a setting that highlights diversity, the growth of surfing in the region, and the emotional connection with the sea.
