With just weeks to go until the start of the 2025 FIH Men’s Hockey Nations Cup in Muscat, Oman, excitement is building among hockey fans. This groundbreaking tournament, taking place from February 17 to 23, 2025, will showcase eight emerging nations, marking a milestone in the international hockey calendar. Set in Muscat, the event promises thrilling action and a high level of competition in a world-class setting.

The significance of this competition lies in the opportunity it provides to teams ranked just below the elite of international hockey. In addition to chasing the title, participants aim for a greater prize: promotion to the 2026 FIH Hockey Nations Cup and a step closer to the prestigious FIH Hockey Pro League.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

The tournament will be divided into two groups of four teams, promising an exciting mix of styles and strategies. Group A will feature Egypt, Chile, China, and Poland, while Group B will bring together Austria, Oman, Scotland, and the United States. During the initial phase, each team will face the others in their group, aiming for a place in the semifinals. The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage, culminating on February 23 with the grand final, where the first-ever FIH Hockey Nations Cup champion will be crowned.
