The AIDA Freediving World Championship 2024 will be held on the stunning island of Corsica in the Mediterranean, specifically in the Ajaccio region. Under the name “Freediving World Championship Corsica 2024,” the event promises to be an unforgettable experience for both athletes and spectators. The competition will take place in an exceptionally favorable marine environment, with depths reaching up to 160 meters from the shore. Diving conditions are optimal, with temperatures ranging from 25°C at the surface to 16°C at 80 meters depth, and visibility between 30 to 40 meters. Additionally, the waters will be free of currents and waves, with a gentle thermal wind expected to develop after 11:00 AM, contributing to an ideal competitive environment.

To ensure a safe and enjoyable freediving experience, several resources and support measures will be in place. Three taxi boats will be available to transport athletes, judges, and staff from the shore to the competition area. In the competition zone, two competition lines equipped with a counterweight system, a high-resolution sonar, and a connected video camera will provide real-time information on the progress of the freedivers. Furthermore, three warm-up lines up to 40 meters will be available, along with four experienced safety divers equipped with an underwater scooter to ensure the safety of all participants.
