FIBA has taken a major step into the digital future with the launch of its new web ecosystem, designed to increase the already impressive levels of fan interaction. Capitalizing on the growth and popularity of basketball, FIBA has unveiled the FIBA Basketball platform, which can be accessed through fiba.basketball, making it the go-to point of reference for basketball enthusiasts and a one-stop site for all content related to FIBA competitions.
The site offers a perfect mix of competition content, including news, videos, photos and new editorial features. Fans won’t miss a game, thanks to a detailed competition calendar that allows them to stay on top of all upcoming events. This effort reinforces FIBA’s ability to keep its fans informed and engaged, with a modern interface tailored to users’ needs.
CUSTOMIZATION AND ENHANCED USER EXPERIENCE
One of the site’s main innovations is the creation of a personalized feed that allows users to follow all matches live on a single screen. The platform also includes the FIBA world ranking with historical results, detailed profiles of every player who has participated in a FIBA competition, as well as extensive profiles of national teams and historical data for each FIBA tournament over the years.
Similarly, all websites dedicated to FIBA competitions have been redesigned, putting the focus on fan interaction and experience. Each event-specific site includes schedules, results, live and cumulative statistics, group standings, team and player profiles, editorial coverage and videos. Notable events include the FIBA Women’s World Cup 2026 and EuroLeague Women, which have their own dedicated sites.
TRANSPARENCY AND ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
In addition, FIBA has completely revamped its corporate site, about.fiba.basketball, which is aimed at an audience more interested in the institution. This platform provides detailed information on FIBA’s governance, structure, recognized organizations and strategic goals, as well as its global initiatives and key partnerships, providing transparency and access to the organization’s official documents, such as the Official Basketball Rules.
Nicolas Chapart, FIBA’s head of digital, said: “Fans around the world consume content in different ways and expect more personalized and quality experiences. This expectation we not only want to meet, but exceed. The new web ecosystem is an example of how we continue to put technology and digital services at the center of our actions.” This launch marks an important step in FIBA’s digital strategy, with the goal of continuing to improve the user experience and keep fans engaged with the sport.
AN EVOLVING DIGITAL ECOSYSTEM
Chapart also stated that, after two years of work, they now have a solid foundation to continue evolving the platforms. “This launch is just the beginning. We are convinced that our new web ecosystem will increase engagement with our sport, offering fans an enhanced and personalized user experience,” he added.
