The International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Allianz have announced the extension of their Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partnership, prolonging their collaboration for four more years until 2032. This agreement follows the successful Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games and will allow Allianz to continue supporting the Olympic and Paralympic movements through another cycle of events, including the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in the French Alps in 2030 and the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. As the Worldwide Insurance Partner, Allianz will provide protection for organizers, participants, and spectators while also offering mentorship and career opportunities for athletes.
Since 2021, Allianz has been an official partner of the Olympic Movement, supporting the preparation and execution of multiple Olympic Games. The insurer has also been linked to the International Paralympic Committee since 2006. IOC President Thomas Bach expressed his satisfaction with the extension of this collaboration, emphasizing the role of sports in uniting people in an increasingly divided world. Meanwhile, Allianz CEO Oliver Bäte highlighted the positive impact the Games have had on their business and reaffirmed their commitment to the unifying spirit of Olympism.
A FUTURE FOR SPORT
The partnership between the IOC and Allianz goes beyond insurance coverage, focusing on initiatives that promote inclusion and mutual understanding through sport. Allianz has launched programs such as The Power of One, which connects individuals and organizations to foster inclusive prosperity. Additionally, athlete support is evident in the Team Allianz program, which provides mentorship and financial education to over 100 athletes from 32 countries.
With the extension of the agreement until 2032, both organizations reaffirm their commitment to working together to build a better world through sport. This collaboration strengthens the importance of the Olympic and Paralympic Games as platforms to inspire millions worldwide, highlighting their vital role in promoting values such as unity and inclusion. As upcoming Olympic events approach, this alliance is set to create a significant impact both in sports and society as a whole.
