The Islamic Solidarity Sports Association (ISSA) has confirmed that the sixth edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from November 7-21, 2025. This event, considered the ISSA’s flagship event, will bring together athletes from 57 countries in a celebration of sporting excellence and peaceful competition.

Formal invitations have already been sent to the National Olympic Committees (NOCs) of member countries. This edition marks the return of the Games to Saudi Arabia, where it was first held in 2005, establishing itself as a key multi-sport event for the Islamic community.

STRATEGIC DATE FOR SPORT AND UNITY

The choice of dates, November 7-21, was made after consultations between the ISSA, the Organizing Committee, NOCs and International Federations. This period avoids conflicts with other major sporting events and Islamic holidays, ensuring the participation of more than 4,000 athletes from across the ISSA community.

In addition, the 2025 Islamic Solidarity Games are strategically positioned to support athletes in their preparation for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games qualification cycle. This reinforces the role of the Games as a platform for sports development and inspiration for millions of young people around the world.

A DYNAMIC SPORTS PROGRAM

The sports program for this edition in Riyadh will be defined in the coming months, supported by ISSA’s collaboration with the International Federations. This dynamic approach reflects ISSA’s commitment to innovation and growth, initiated at its 2023 General Assembly.
