International Olympic Committee -IOC- President Kirsty Coventry and Association of IOC Recognised International Sports Federations -ARISF- President Raffaele Chiulli met in Lausanne during the ARISF Congress, held in the Olympic Capital. Coventry’s visit symbolised the strong connection between the two organisations, in a context marked by Chiulli’s recent re-election as ARISF President.

During the meeting, Chiulli expressed his appreciation to Coventry for her presence and for the congratulatory message she extended to the Assembly following his re-election. As a gesture of courtesy and recognition, the ARISF President presented her with the organisation’s commemorative book, highlighting the value of collaboration and the shared principles that unite the global sports community.

A dialogue of respect and unity

Raffaele Chiulli emphasised the importance of cooperation between ARISF and the IOC, underscoring their joint efforts to strengthen the role of the recognised international federations within the Olympic Movement. “Together, we will continue to promote excellence and unity across international sport,” said the President, who thanked Coventry for her commitment to Olympic values.

The atmosphere at the Congress reflected a sense of respect and cordiality among the representatives of the federations and the IOC delegation. Coventry’s presence was warmly received by ARISF members, who acknowledged her leadership and her role in reinforcing the connection between both institutions.

An alliance built on Olympic values

Both Coventry and Chiulli agreed on the need to continue promoting integrity, inclusion and cooperation as the cornerstones of their joint work. “These values are the foundation of sport and of the relationship between our organisations,” said Chiulli during his address, reaffirming his commitment to continue working closely with the IOC.

Chiulli’s new mandate, supported by the ARISF Assembly, remains focused on excellence, innovation and solidarity. Collaboration with the IOC is set to be a central part of this new chapter, aimed at strengthening the participation of the federations within the Olympic Movement.

A future of international cooperation

The exchange between Coventry and Chiulli symbolised their shared commitment to a future of institutional cooperation. The presentation of the ARISF book represented a gesture of continuity and mutual respect between two organisations united by a common vision of sport as a driving force for progress and unity.

“We will continue working together to advance a stronger and more united Olympic Movement,” concluded Chiulli, in a message that reflected their shared determination to keep moving forward in support of all federations recognised by the IOC.
