The organisation of the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games continues to strengthen its commercial support. Fincantieri, a global leader in shipbuilding, has signed a sponsorship agreement with the Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026, reinforcing its commitment to inclusion, respect and equality—core values of the everyDEI programme. Agreements have also been finalised with Trentino Marketing and IDM Alto Adige, key organisations for the promotion of their respective territories, which are now firmly in the spotlight of the world’s leading winter sports event.
The signing ceremony with Fincantieri was attended by Pierroberto Folgiero, CEO of the company; Giovanni Malagò, President of the Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026; and Andrea Varnier, CEO of the Organising Committee. This partnership brings together two internationally recognised institutions that share a commitment to promoting universal values. For Fincantieri, the Paralympic Games serve as a constant source of inspiration, and the Group has made diversity, equity and inclusion fundamental pillars of its corporate identity.
“Reaffirming values such as inclusion and respect”
Through this agreement, Fincantieri reaffirms its role as a key player in Italy’s industrial system. Its involvement in a project of this scale positions Italy prominently on the global stage. “Standing alongside an event like the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games is a unique opportunity to reaffirm values such as inclusion and respect,” said Folgiero. “We believe that the strength of a community lies in its ability to value diversity and turn challenges into opportunities.”
The partnership was also warmly welcomed by the organisation. “We are proud to announce our collaboration with Fincantieri, a world-renowned Italian company,” said Varnier. “Its track record and commitment to innovation align perfectly with the model of the Milano Cortina 2026 Games, deeply rooted in the Italian spirit.”

Sponsorship agreement between IDM Alto Adige and Milano Cortina 2026
The regional development agency IDM Alto Adige will also be present at the Olympic event and has been announced as an official sponsor of Milano Cortina 2026. Within this framework, five food consortia from the region will have the opportunity to showcase their products.
For the first time, several Olympic competitions will be held on South Tyrolean soil, with all biathlon events taking place in Antholz-Anterselva. This presence offers the region unprecedented visibility. “The Olympic Games embody values such as excellence, passion and community, which also define our territory,” said Arno Kompatscher, President of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano. “This major event also represents a powerful economic driver for the host country, its culture and its products. Studies show that Olympic sponsorship is 3.6 times more effective than other types of sports sponsorship. It was an opportunity we absolutely had to seize—and we did.”
Trentino: Olympic territory and Alpine reference point
Trentino Marketing has also finalised its agreement with the organising foundation, becoming the destination sponsor of the Winter Games. In this area of northeastern Italy, 59 Olympic and Paralympic competitions will take place—representing nearly 30% of the total programme. Cross-country skiing, Nordic combined, ski jumping, Para cross-country skiing and Para biathlon events will be held in Lago di Tesero and Predazzo.
Thanks to this partnership, Trentino strengthens its position as a leading Alpine destination for both sport and tourism. “This alliance not only holds undeniable strategic value, but also reinforces the bond with the host territories, which are essential to the event,” stated Varnier.
“An extraordinary opportunity for visibility”
Milano Cortina 2026 is being built on a unique territorial model involving two regions, two autonomous provinces and two Italian cities. This setup demands exceptional coordination and a deep connection to the local context. Both Trentino and IDM Alto Adige stand out as strategic partners in this shared commitment to sport, territorial identity and international outreach.
According to Giovanni Battaiola, President of Trentino Marketing, this is “an extraordinary opportunity for visibility” for the region. And for Maurizio Fugatti, President of the Autonomous Province of Trento, the agreement allows “the excellence of Olympic sport to be matched with the excellence of our hospitality, tourism and agri-food sectors.”
