Qatar and Mongolia sign agreement to strengthen sporting cooperation

In a significant step towards international collaboration in the field of sports, the President of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC), H.E. Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani, met with the President of the Mongolian National Olympic Committee (MNOC), Battushig Batbold, during his official visit to Doha.

The meeting was mainly aimed at strengthening sports cooperation between the two national Olympic committees. During the meeting, key issues such as preparations for the next Asian Games, to be held in Nagoya in 2026, were discussed. Also present was QOC Secretary General H.E. Jassim bin Rashid Al-Buenain.

The highlights between Qatar and Mongolia

One of the highlights of the meeting was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Qatar and Mongolia Olympic Committees. This agreement seeks to foster bilateral collaboration in sports and Olympic development, establishing a structured framework for future joint initiatives.

Sheikh Joaan expressed his satisfaction at the signing of the agreement, stating, “We are committed to activating this MoU through collaborative programs that promote sporting excellence and support athletes in both countries.”

Mongolia seeks to learn from Qatar’s sporting expertise

For his part, Battushig Batbold highlighted the importance of the agreement in strengthening the ties of friendship and sports collaboration between Mongolia and Qatar. He also underlined Mongolia’s interest in taking advantage of Qatar’s extensive experience in organizing and developing sporting events.
