This Sunday, Serbia (men’s category) and Canada (women’s category) claimed gold at the FIBA 3×3 Champions Cup 2025 after defeating the Netherlands and Spain, respectively, in thrilling finals.
The men’s final saw Serbia and the Netherlands face off in an intense and spectacular matchup. From the start, both teams exchanged baskets, with Worthy de Jong leading the Dutch with his drives to the rim, while Marko Brankovic and Stefan Milivojevic kept Serbia in the game.
With just over two minutes left, the Netherlands took an 11-8 lead, but Serbia refused to back down. Milivojevic stepped up in the decisive moments, hitting a crucial two-pointer and drawing key fouls. With 38 seconds remaining, Serbia led 16-14, but a big two-pointer from De Jong tied the game. However, a subsequent foul sent Serbia to the free-throw line, where they made one of two shots, enough to secure a 17-16 victory and the gold medal.
CANADA OVERCOMES SPAIN IN THE WOMEN’S FINAL

In the final minutes, Canada managed to pull ahead thanks to timely buckets from Grant-Allen and Katherine Plouffe. Despite a last effort from Spain, Canada secured a 15-13 victory, claiming the first-ever gold in the history of the FIBA 3×3 Champions Cup.
