Athlete and content creator Sergio Turull, known on social media as @pitufollow, embarked on June 22, 2025, on one of the most ambitious sporting and charitable challenges of the year: the 50-50-50 Project. The initiative involves running 50 kilometers daily for 50 consecutive days, covering all 50 provinces of Spain, including Tenerife, Gran Canaria, and Mallorca. Beyond the physical effort, the goal is to raise funds for the Juegaterapia Foundation, specifically to build a Pediatric Oncology ward at Virgen de las Nieves Hospital in Granada.

Each stage is designed to be accessible, with circuits where anyone can join and run part of the route with Sergio, building community and raising awareness for the cause. The campaign is supported by Vitamin Well and also aims to highlight the importance of hydration during the summer. Through daily content on social media, the project invites people to run, share, and donate—integrating sports, solidarity, and communication into one unified purpose.

The impact of running for a cause

The 50-50-50 Project not only pushes the physical limits of Sergio Turull, but also represents an innovative way to unite the country around a shared cause. Starting in Tenerife and scheduled to finish on August 10 in Barcelona, the journey covers over 2,500 kilometers, crossing geography, emotions, and realities. The possibility of joining in every province turns the project into a collective event where running becomes a tool for social transformation. The precedent set in 2024—when Turull ran 1,500 km from Tarifa to Cap de Creus, raising over 50,000 euros—strengthens the potential of this new adventure.

In addition to the athletic component, the challenge is designed to create a narrative impact. Each day will be documented on social media, with testimonials, images, and reflections that allow people to follow the journey in real time. A documentary is also expected to be produced to immortalize the experience. In this way, the 50-50-50 Project stands as an initiative that inspires, connects, and transforms—where each kilometer counts not only on the road but in the lives of those who will benefit from a more humane and hopeful hospital.
