SportsIn strengthens its international editorial network with the appointment of Luca Corsolini as its correspondent in Italy, establishing a new editorial presence in Rome as part of the platform’s continuing international expansion.

Corsolini brings more than four decades of experience in sport and communications. Born in 1962 and involved in sports coverage since 1983, he has a background that goes well beyond journalism. A former basketball player, communications specialist and teacher, he has built his career around sport and the people and institutions that shape it.

An expanding international newsroom

From Rome, Corsolini will cover developments across Italian sport while also contributing to SportsIn’s wider international coverage, analysis and special editorial projects. His arrival is part of the continuing development of SportsIn’s international newsroom and its ambition to combine experienced journalism with specialised knowledge of the institutions, personalities and forces shaping world sport.

“Luca brings exactly the combination we value at SportsIn: experience, knowledge of sport from the inside and the ability to understand the story beyond the immediate news,” said George Yerolimpos, CEO of SportsIn. “Italy is one of Europe’s major sporting countries and an important centre of international sport. Having Luca working with us from Rome strengthens both our presence in Italy and our wider international coverage. We are very pleased to welcome him to our team.”

Corsolini joins an expanding editorial structure led by Víctor García, chief editor of SportsIn, with Farzad Youshanlou overseeing Combat Sports, Javi Nieto covering the wider world of sport and Athlete Stardom, and Juan Jose Saldaña focusing on international sports journalism and news. They work alongside a broader international team of journalists, contributors and specialists supporting SportsIn’s editorial coverage and its presence across social media, including X and LinkedIn.

SoccerIN: behind the stories of world football

The expansion also comes as SportsIn prepares another addition to its editorial portfolio: SoccerIN, a new dedicated section looking beyond scores, fixtures and conventional football coverage to explore the power, money, personalities, rivalries and stories behind world football.

From federation and club politics to ownership battles, agents, player influence and global football stardom, SoccerIN will bring the SportsIn approach to the world’s biggest sport: not simply reporting what happened, but looking inside the forces that made it happen.

SoccerIN is coming soon.

For SportsIn, Corsolini’s arrival in Rome represents another step in the same direction: building an international editorial network capable of staying close to the people, institutions and decisions shaping global sport.

Welcome to SportsIn, Luca.
