The Olympic Games are the most prestigious event in the world. In Paris 2024, 10,500 athletes from 206 delegations are competing for the same dream: to win the gold medal. Paris 2024 is almost over and the next venues for the Games are already clear, some clearer than others.
The 2028 Olympic Games are changing continent. The United States will host its third edition and the venue will be the same as the previous two. Los Angeles will host 2028 and hopes to leave a legacy by offering a personalised experience for athletes. The aim is to reignite Olympic passion and instil the Olympic movement in the next generation of Americans through a mix of sport and entertainment.

Australia will host the 2032 Olympic Games. Brisbane is the country’s third venue after Sydney and Melbourne. The Australian committee expects fans to have a sporting experience at its 37 venues. Australia will close a decade of hosting sporting events after the Women’s World Cup in football and basketball and the Road Cycling World Cup.
After Europe, America and Oceania, Asia will be the continent to host the Olympic Games. Qatar and more specifically Doha will host the world’s most prestigious sporting event for the first time. It will be the Middle East’s premiere after the experiences in Seoul, Beijing and Tokyo. The official announcement, which is scheduled for 2026 or 2027, will be made after the necessary formalities have been completed.
BERLIN 2040?
Although sixteen years away, the first bids to host the Games are already in motion. Germany‘s Federal Government has already made moves for a German city to bid to host the 2040 Olympics.
Germany’s Federal Minister of the Interior and Sport Nancy Faeser signed the country’s application for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris. The declaration was closely coordinated between the Federal Ministry of the Interior, the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB), the city of Berlin (potential host city) as well as the cities of Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Leipzig, Munich and the states of North Rhine-Westphalia and Bavaria.
The IOC will start the bidding process for applications in 2025.
