The Serbian team Liman secured their first victory of the season at the FIBA 3×3 World Tour Ulaanbaatar 2025 after defeating Baskets Bonn Telekom in a thrilling match that ended 21-20. The final, held on Saturday, delivered unforgettable moments.
Led by Marko Stevanovic, the Serbians showcased their usual precision and dominance in the game. During the group stage, Liman remained undefeated, leveraging their height and shooting efficiency to confidently advance to the knockout rounds. In the semifinals, they overcame the local team Ulaanbaatar MMC Energy, securing their spot in the grand final.
Baskets Bonn Telekom: A Rising Talent
The young German team Baskets Bonn Telekom, which had already reached the final in the previous tournament, demonstrated their quality by defeating Riffa and Marijampole Mantinga in the knockout rounds.
The match started with intensity from the very first minute. Nemanja Zigon opened the scoring with a spectacular dunk, but Denzel Agyeman quickly responded with a similar play for the Germans. Both teams maintained a frenetic pace, exchanging baskets and keeping the score tight.
Milutinovic Shines in a Dramatic Finale
Andreja Milutinovic was the key figure for Liman in the final. While Stevanovic, Popovic, and Zigon contributed offensively, Milutinovic led the charge with a stellar performance, scoring crucial points to keep his team in the fight. An injury to Fabian Giessmann complicated matters for the Germans. Issues with free throws and fouls allowed Liman to close the gap. With the score at 20-19 in favor of Baskets Bonn, Milutinovic hit a decisive three-pointer that sealed the victory for the Serbians, finishing with 13 points in the game.
Final Standings
In addition to the title, Stevanovic was recognized as the tournament MVP thanks to his consistency on both ends of the court. With 36 points accumulated over the two days of competition, he was Liman’s standout player and a key piece in their success.
In the individual competitions, Jonas Foerts won the Wilson Shoot-Out Contest, while Joel ‘The Royal Guard’ Henry impressed the crowd with his victory in the Dunk Contest.
