“In my professional career I can only be grateful to what is (erroneously) known as the minority or secondary sports market. Thanks to National, Continental and International Federations, Olympic Committees from remote countries that have never had representatives in an Olympic Games and Confederations from regions of the planet that are not the most attractive for media and sponsors, I have been able to learn many of the secrets and the magic that keeps the beautiful sports industry, make many good friends and grow a lot in personal and professional terms.
As an insatiable entrepreneur, I did not hesitate for a second to put the push and the necessary means to see the birth of the idea on which today I publish this article: SportsIn. The moment I was exposed to the possibility, I was certain that there was a huge space to generate a media that would give voice and put into words, the immense global sports reality, that which wrongly or condescendingly called minority, which ignored the television talk shows and major sports media, which every weekend distributes thousands of medals to heroes around the world, situations that deserve to be told, read and replicated.
Supported by a top-notch team, we decided that we not only had to do it in English, but that we wanted to create a global medium that could be followed by the two major languages that give voice to the world of sport after the English-speaking world , Spanish and Arabic. Today we are missing the Arabic version, but I am sure it will soon be available and we will be able to offer our content to a culture that is hungry for sport.
WHAT SPORTSIN CAN CONTRIBUTE TO SPORT
We are still at the dawn of what we design, but you never get to improve and advance if you don’t feel watched and judged, if you don’t feel the pressure to compete. So with many faults in the navigation of the site, we have decided to press the online button and go public with this medium, of which I cannot express in words where my mind goes in imagining what it can contribute to the global sports industry in the future.
Hopefully the road will take us as far as my thoughts go today, because if I have learned anything from this industry, it is that we can all turn our dreams and desires into realities with hard work, honesty, transparency, rigor and truth, important ingredients to live in fullness and that at the same time are the key to any media that wants to prosper.
Only time will tell how far this SportsIn, with which I have become so fond of, will go, but I will never stop thanking fate for giving me the opportunity to push and give life to this project, because with it, I feel that I can give back a small part, however small it may be, to the sports industry that has given me so much”.
