Germany won the gold medal in the mixed triathlon event at Paris 2024 with the United States and Great Britain taking silver and bronze after a close finish that had to be decided in a photo finish.
In the race, contested by 4 competitors, 2 men and 2 women, over the distances of 300m swim, 7km bike and 1.8km run. Germany won the final sprint with Laura Lindemann ahead of Great Britain’s Beth Potter and Taylor Knibb from the USA.
Lindemann came in first, giving Germany the gold medal (1:25:39), while the United States and Great Britain, one second behind, battled it out for the silver, which had to be decided by photo finish. In the end, second place went to the Americans, while the Brits took bronze.
