UEFA has taken a significant step toward making european football more accessible by announcing a reduction in ticket prices for away fans in its three men’s club competitions. This measure, set to take effect from the 2024/25 season, reflects UEFA’s commitment to making football more affordable for all supporters, especially those who travel to support their teams in away matches. The decision has been endorsed by both UEFA’s Club Competitions Committee and fan organizations, underscoring the importance of fans in creating the vibrant atmosphere that characterizes european competitions.
Specifically, the maximum ticket prices for away fans will be set at 60 euros for the UEFA Champions League, 40 euros for the UEFA Europa League, and 20 euros for the UEFA Conference League starting next season. Additionally, further reductions will be implemented in the 2025/26 season, bringing prices down to 50 euros, 35 euros, and 20 euros respectively for these competitions. This pricing adjustment is part of a broader effort to enhance the fan experience and ensure that football remains an inclusive and accessible sport.

The measure follows an extensive consultation process with the European Club Association (ECA) and Football Supporters Europe (FSE), demonstrating the shared commitment between UEFA and stakeholders to prioritize fans in key decisions. Aleksander Čeferin, UEFA President, emphasized that this decision reinforces the organization’s commitment to improving the fan experience at matches, acknowledging their crucial role in the atmosphere of European stadiums.
Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, ECA Chairman, noted that this reduction in prices is a clear signal of the clubs’ desire to actively contribute to a better experience for fans, especially those who travel long distances to follow their teams. Meanwhile, Ronan Evain, Executive Director of FSE, welcomed the decision, highlighting that it recognizes the importance of away fans and their role in the atmosphere of European club matches.
