The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) announced that the Cameroonian Anti-Doping Organization has been removed, with immediate effect, from the list of signatories that did not comply with the World Anti-Doping Code. Currently, this list only includes the Russian Anti-Doping Agency, the International Fitness and Bodybuilding Federation, and the International Federation of Basque Pelota. The decision was made following a postal vote by the WADA Executive Committee.
Cameroon’s national anti-doping organization had been declared non-compliant for failing to remedy deficiencies identified in its anti-doping program during the Code Compliance Questionnaire (CCQ) exercise.
From non-compliance to reinstatement
On July 12, 2024, WADA formally notified the Cameroonian organization of its non-compliance. This situation became effective on August 5, 2024, after the entity did not contest the accusation, as provided for in Article 9.3.1 of the International Standard for Code Compliance by Signatories (ISCCS).
However, on July 22, 2025, the Cameroonian organization submitted information and documentation demonstrating that the non-conformities had been corrected. Subsequently, on July 27, 2025, the WADA Compliance Review Committee agreed with the agency’s management that Cameroon had met the conditions for reinstatement.
A recommendation accepted by the Executive Committee
Pursuant to Article 11.3.3 of the ISCCS, the Compliance Review Committee recommended that the WADA Executive Committee remove Cameroon from the list of non-compliant signatories. The agency confirmed that the measure was effective immediately, allowing the organization to resume its normal functions.
