On May 4, 2025, thousands of runners across the globe will virtually line up to take part in an unprecedented race: the Wings for Life World Run. Unlike traditional competitions, this race has no fixed finish line. All participants start at the same time, exactly at 11:00 am UTC, and run until they are caught by the “Catcher Car“, a vehicle that symbolizes the end of their individual race.

The format breaks with conventions and turns the experience into a personal challenge. Thirty minutes after the start, the Catcher Car begins to move, gradually increasing its speed to catch participants one by one. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a professional or a casual runner—what matters is enjoying the journey, testing your endurance, and contributing to a global charitable cause.

Running without a finish line, but with a purpose

The Wings for Life World Run is a global, charitable race organized by Red Bull, in which participants don’t compete against each other, but against the Catcher Car. Casual runners may be caught around the 5-kilometer mark, while more experienced athletes might reach distances over 50 or even 60 kilometers. Thanks to a special calculator, each runner can set a personal goal based on their pace and plan their participation accordingly.

What’s most remarkable about this race is that 100% of all registration fees and donations go directly to research aimed at curing spinal cord injuries. The Wings for Life World Run not only promotes sport and global unity but also represents a deep commitment to an urgent cause. Running here isn’t just a physical challenge—it’s an act of hope.
