World Boxing has confirmed the creation of a new continental confederation, named European Boxing, in collaboration with its national federations across Europe. The formation of this entity is the result of the progress that the organization and its members have achieved in recent years.
The Interim Board of European Boxing has announced the Inaugural Congress, which will take place on March 23, 2025, in Prague. This event will be held in a hybrid format, allowing attendees to participate both in person and virtually.
Currently, World Boxing has 20 affiliated European federations, with more in the process of joining. At the Inaugural Congress, European members of the organization will approve the statutes and elect the Executive Board members of European Boxing.
Additionally, the Congress will include the creation of several committees and the election of their respective chairs. The proposed committees are:
- Sports & Competition
- Referees & Judges
- Medical & Anti-Doping
- Audit & Finance
- Ethics
To ensure a transparent process, the Interim Board of European Boxing will collaborate with an external provider to establish an independent vetting panel to review all applications for leadership positions.
With this step, World Boxing strengthens its organizational structure in Europe and advances its mission to promote and regulate boxing at an international level.
