Ub -SRB- and the United States set the pace for international 3×3 in Chengdu, where the Chinese city brought together the FIBA 3×3 World Tour Chengdu 2026 and the opening stop of the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series 2026 in the same competition programme. The Serbian team won the second stop of the men’s circuit after defeating Liman -SRB- 21-19, while the United States opened the women’s season with a 20-18 victory over Germany.
The double event took place at Jiaozi Music Square, in the Wuhou district, and strengthened Chengdu’s role as one of the most recognisable stops on the 3×3 calendar. Over three days, the event brought together men’s and women’s teams from different continents, with an urban format that combined elite competition, city atmosphere and an early competitive reading of the 2026 season.
Ub returns to the front of the circuit
Ub regained prominence on the FIBA 3×3 World Tour after missing out on the title at the Utsunomiya opener and responded in Chengdu with their first win of the 2026 Pro Circuit. The Serbian team again showed its competitive strength in decisive moments and closed the tournament with a high-level final against Liman, who arrived as champions of the season’s opening stop.
One of the standout names of the weekend was Filip Kaluderovic, named MVP after leading Ub’s run to the title. The Serbian player finished with 32 points, the third-highest total of the tournament, and was decisive in both the semi-finals and the final, where he scored the basket that sealed the 21-19 win over Liman. His impact adds a new dimension to a team that was already one of the main references on the circuit.

The United States opens the Women’s Series with victory
The FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series 2026 also began in Chengdu with victory for the United States, who claimed their first win at a women’s circuit stop since 2024 and the first for this roster. The American team defeated Germany 20-18 in the final, in a tournament that confirmed the competitive depth of a season that has only just begun.
Mikaylah Williams was named MVP after leading the United States with a decisive performance in Chengdu, including a 10-point display in the final. Germany strengthened its position among the teams to watch with the runner-up finish, while Poland finished third and China reached fourth place after advancing from the qualifying draw, a significant result for the local representation at a high-level event.
A 2026 season that looks increasingly open
Chengdu also offered a broader reading of the growth of 3×3 across both circuits. In the men’s draw, Liman confirmed its consistency with a second consecutive final, Ulaanbaatar MMC Energy -MGL- showed its progress with Nauris Miezis as a reference figure, and Skyliners -GER- reached the semi-finals again after their strong performance in Utsunomiya. The competitiveness was also visible in teams such as DeQing -CHN-, Miami -USA-, Antwerp -BEL-, Toronto -CAN-, Shinagawa -JPN- and Bordeaux -FRA-, who all showed signs of the rising level on the circuit.
The calendar will now continue with new stops for both circuits. The FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series 2026 will move to Manila on 7 and 8 May, while the FIBA 3×3 World Tour will return in Zadar, Croatia, from 15 to 16 May. After Chengdu, Ub regains ground among the leading contenders on the men’s circuit and the United States has sent the first message of the women’s season.
