Less than a year after hosting Olympic and Paralympic competitions, the Olympic Aquatic Center has reopened its doors to the public, fulfilling the Games’ vision of leaving benefits among the neighbors who welcomed Paris 2024. Located in Seine-Saint-Denis, one of the youngest and most diverse areas in France, this center has become a permanent public facility designed to encourage daily sports while optimizing public investment.

During the Paris 2024 Games, the Center hosted trampoline, water polo, and artistic swimming competitions. This project reflects the organisers’ commitment to bringing the Games closer to the people and investing in infrastructure with long-term value. It also embodies the reforms of the IOC’s Olympic Agenda 2020, which prioritises sustainability and legacy in the planning of the Olympic Games.

Facilities for all audiences and high performance

In its new configuration, the Olympic Aquatic Center has four pools: a 50-meter competition pool, a diving pool, a learning pool for schoolchildren, and a leisure pool open to the public. It also includes nine paddle tennis courts, a 1,000 m² climbing wall, fitness areas, a restaurant, and a sports ‘recyclerie’ with repair workshops and a charity shop selling used equipment.

Although not everything will be intended for amateur use, it will also serve as a high-performance facility for the French Swimming Federation, as it will host the European Swimming Championships in 2026.
