The Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games will also be organised from Hollywood. The Organising Committee has confirmed that two major film studio campuses will support media and broadcast operations during the Games.
Hollywood Park Studios in Inglewood will host functions of the Main Press Center, provide facilities for live stand-ups and accommodate a range of Games-time operations. Meanwhile, Warner Bros. Studios’ The Ranch Lot will serve as the International Broadcast Center, where Media Rights Holders will coordinate the distribution of the Olympic and Paralympic broadcast feed to audiences around the world.
Hollywood as Olympic infrastructure
The decision goes beyond symbolism. The International Broadcast Center will become one of the most important operational facilities of the Games. It will host Media Rights Holders and a significant part of the international broadcast operation. The Main Press Center, meanwhile, will serve as the working hub for thousands of accredited journalists.
The move is another example of LA28‘s commitment to using existing venues. Instead of building new temporary facilities, the Organising Committee is making use of two studio campuses specifically designed for large-scale audiovisual productions.
Companies as part of the organisation
The announcement fits the model Los Angeles is building for 2028. The Organising Committee is relying on some of the city’s and the country’s leading companies to deliver key areas of the Games.
Hollywood provides world-class production capabilities. NBCUniversal and Comcast play a central role in broadcast distribution. Google contributes technology, artificial intelligence and digital tools. Intuit provides one of the Games’ main competition venues, while other companies support mobility, services and the spectator experience.
This goes beyond traditional sponsorship. These companies are contributing infrastructure, expertise and operational capabilities in the sectors where they are already global leaders.
Paris 2024 turned its landmarks into part of the Olympic stage. Los Angeles 2028 will rely on its entertainment industry to produce and distribute the Games. The addition of Hollywood Park Studios and Warner Bros. reinforces that approach, while Los Angeles already has the studios, platforms, technology companies and professionals needed to deliver one of the largest broadcast operations in the world.
